Science National Honor Society

The Science National Honor Society, a prominent scientific organization, is responsible for generating a new generation of thinkers that will be America’s future in industry, research and scientific exploration.

Seniors and Juniors enrolled in Honor or AP Science courses and who have a minimum 80 average in all other courses are eligible to join the Stratford High School Science National Honor Society. They are expected to behave in a manner that conforms with the school’s guidelines.

The Chapter will host scientific talks, field trips, and volunteer at science-based events in the area. The dues cost $15 and include a SNHS Certificate, SNHS Pin and an honor cord at graduation.

Section 1 – This organization’s name shall be the Science National Honor Society (SNHS) Stratford High School Chapter.

A letter will be sent to an active member of Science National Honor Society, who has transferred from this school. It will indicate her status as a member.

If proof of membership is presented, an active member of Science National Honor Society will be accepted into this chapter. The Advisor will grant the member who is transferring to this school one quarter to meet the membership requirements. This member must then maintain the requirements for this chapter to keep her membership.

If a student violates the Science National Honor Society standards, obligations or ideals, he or she may be fired. This includes violating the grade or behavior requirements as described in Article VII Sections 2 through 8.

Any member who fails to meet the scholarship standards or the other requirements for membership could be dismissed from the Stratford High School Science National Honor Society. The Science National Honor Society expects members to maintain their academic standing and to take an active role in scientific leadership and service to their school and community.

At the conference, the member will have the chance to address the charges against her. Any student in the Science National Honor Society can be dismissed by the advisor for misconduct or failures to comply with society requirements.
